Last week I has the pleasure of working with Jeannine Calia and Paul Pereira of La La Luxe Salon in Providence. They are both fantastic hair stylists but for this shoot Jeannine was in front of the camera. Paul wanted to turn Jeannine into two different classic movie stars with our inspiration being Marlene Dietrich and Hedy Lamarr. This concept was Paul's idea and I couldn't imagine anyone but Paul pulling it off. The second I walked into his home I knew this shoot would be special. His house is beautifully designed, which he has all done himself. His wardrobe is extensive. Plus he made the wigs for this shoot. We did the entire prep and shoot at his house and after a few hours, we were all done. I love how the photos came out. I think we really captured the essence of a classic movie star.

I am obsessed with fonts and typography so this website Fonts In Use is wicked helpful. I am super loyal to certain fonts so when I find one I love I stick with it. Someone even noticed and brought to my attention that I used the same font of my logo in the The Trunk Show videos. Yup, I did. Guilty as charged.

Duran Duran's Girl Panic!
My friend Steve put a link on my Facebook wall a few days ago saying something about Duran Duran and me liking it. Usually when he tells me to watch something it's most likely something I am completely not interested in but something he loves. I didn't click on the link until a few days later but to my surprise, he was right. It was right up my alley. Duran Duran's new music video for Girl Panic! featured glitz, glam, and 90s supermodels. My two favorite music videos growing up were George Michael's Freedom! 90 and Too Funky, both featuring supermodels and fashion.
I love everything about the Girl Panic! video. Jonas Åkerlund directed this nine minute long video featuring models Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Eva Herzigova, Helena Christensen, and Yasmin Le Bon as the members of Duran Duran. Truly the only thing that could of made this video magical for me was if Linda Evangelista was there. I love Åkerlund's brightly done and over the top videos so Girl Panic! has become a fast favorite new music video for me.

These photographs of suitcases that were found in the attic of the Willard Asylum for the Insane in New York are intriguing and unsettling at the same time. It's so sad that these people had their belongings taken away from them to be locked away in the attic, never to be returned to their rightful owners.

The Trunk Show: Cassandra Duguay
Yesterday I launched my new web series called The Trunk Show with Style Week Providence. PR girl and my friend Jasmine Souza and I have been working on this for a few months now and we are very excited that the first episode has finally been released. This first episode we interviewed Providence based fashion stylist, Cassandra Duguay. She talks about her job, her love of thrifting and even shows a few gems she's found while thrifting.
Meta P in the Providence Phoenix
A photo I took of Rhode Island based emcee Meta P. I had the pleasure of shooting him a few weeks ago for an article he would be featured in for the Providence Phoenix. Well it's out and I was surprised to see it on the cover as well as accompanying the article. Needless to say I was pretty excited.
Meta P's new album Edison's Ink is now available for sale.
