I am so proud of Harry Grigsby aka Jon Hope. I have known him for practically nine years and his music career is taking off. He has released two fantastic music videos in the past month. I love looking at photos of people's workspaces on Flickr and Instagram. Be it at their office or a makeshift setup in a coffee shop, I find inspiration in people working and how they choose to build their dream workspace.

Photo Story // Alexandria Serafini

Last month I shot the absolutely gorgeous Alexandria Serafini (Maggie INC). She is this six foot tall 17 year old fantastic girl who is smart and funny and I pretty much fell in love with her. I adore this girl so much. She and her mother, "Mamafini", came to Providence to work with my beauty squad of makeup artist Lauren O'Jea, hair stylist Jeannine "J9" Calia, and wardrobe stylist Jasmine Souza working with the clothing of Joseph Aaron Segal. We had so much fun getting ready for this shoot. Lauren, Jeannine, and the new addition of Jasmine are so amazing to work with and I always produce my best work with them. We shot at The Steel Yard in Providence, RI, this amazing educational and studio space.

I first saw Alexandria at January 2012's Style Week. She wore the finale dress for Jonathan Joseph Peters. She looked absolutely amazing and when I found out she was 16 (she turned 17 a week after our photo shoot), I was stunned. I was so happy that she wanted to do this photo shoot with me. I love how one second she can be giving me the sickest pose I've ever seen and then be giggling and calling something "cray". I forget that she is just a teenager but I can tell that she will have a successful career ahead of her.

Can we talk about the beauty team for a second? I wanted natural disaster. Jeannine made a hair tornado. If you forgot Jeannine was on Hair Battle Spectacular 2 for fantasy hair styles. I love it when she makes hair pieces for my shoots. It definitely took this shoot to the next level. I asked Lauren simple yet sculptural makeup. I love the eyebrows she made for this shoot. She made them on the spot and it was definitely the look I was going for. Jasmine came on as stylist at last minute. She made one quick text message to Joe Segal and we picked up the clothing later that day. This was her first time styling but she did such an amazing job with Joe's clothing and pieces she owned that I definitely want her to style more of my shoots. She knows what I want without me even having to say it. It does helps that she's my best friend and knows pretty much everything I like (and everything I hate). I need to thank Nicolas Bauta and the people of Steel Yard for letting us shoot there. Nic was a fan of the shoot from the second I told him about it and I appreciate him so much for his help.

This is probably my favorite shoot so far since I've been shooting. I love how we all came together for this shoot and I'm so proud of the job everyone did. I love that get to work with these insanely talented people.

Gear Works // New iPad!

I got an iPad for my birthday! My lovely friends and family all pitched in to get me one! I'm at my favorite cafe, Small Point, testing out what it's like to use the Squarepace app to post.

So far along I don't think it's the best for my type of blogging since it's all photo based but for traditional blogging, I definitely think its great.

The Inspiration Board // Black Paint

I am little obsessed with black paint. My bedroom walls are currently black and white stripes and I am considering painting the whole thing black. After seeing (500) Days of Summer I also would consider painting it with chalkboard paint, but who knows the things my friends would draw on the walls.

stripped // valerie poirier "naked"

Last week I filmed a new "stripped" with Providence based singer/ songwriter Valerie Poirier. I first saw her perform an open mic at The Spot Underground last year. She was singing a Cat Power song and I had to go up to her afterward to tell her I loved her singing. Fast forward to two weeks ago. I saw her when I was shooting at Burritos and Bluegrass at Lola's and reintroduced myself. I asked her if she would be interested in filming with me. Thankfully she was! After our first attempt at shooting failed (it's a long story), we shot last Friday and it was worth the wait. She is so nice and cute and I'm glad to record this video of her.

Link Roundup // I Am The Everyday Girl (dot com) Relaunch!

I Am The Everyday Girl just relaunched their cute website to something even more adorable and fun! Jen and Jane of Everyday Girl started a movement for girls to love themselves and be creative and awesome individuals. They are super nice and fun and I love the dynamic between Jen and Jane. You can tell that they're not just friends but family. They work so well together and love being around each other and that makes me enjoy being around them. They're great people and I love that their website is even bigger and better.

One new feature of their website is a styling section and they asked my buddies over at Concrete Predator for their input. The first article is their take on styling the little black dress. Jasmine and Ana have different styles so it's cool to see two completely different takes on how to wear the little black dress.

I am very honored to say that they wanted me to be a part of their relaunch. They interviewed me and Jen photographed me while I photographed Jane. I was soooo nervous, especially nervous about getting my photo taken, but I had a lot of fun and the article came out so cute. I am really happy to be a part of their website.

Vintage Trouble and Van Hunt @ Fete

Last Saturday I shot Vintage Trouble and Van Hunt at Fete Music in Providence. Vintage Trouble put on an amazing show. I hear they will be on the Jimmy Kimmel show April 24th. They were so energetic and fun and I can't wait to listen to more of their music.

Van Hunt, the headliner of the night, was soulful and cool. I loved that the bass player played a double bass and I get excited every time I see a female drummer. The show that night as a whole was amazing and I was glad I was there to photograph it.
