I Hate Blonde's Birthday Party At The Plaza

It started out like any other Monday. Below is the story of how I went from sitting at a bar in Providence to partying at The Plaza in Manhattan in the span of four hours.

I met up with my friend Ashley to talk about some new products from her business Spa Source Online at Hot Club. Soon my friends Steve and Peter showed up and I mentioned that I was said I was going to miss my friend Rachel aka I Hate Blonde's birthday party that night. Ashley immediately said we should go. I said no, that's crazy. Peter said why not go? I texted my friend Hortencia who was going to the party and tell her that I was debating on going. She said it was at The Plaza and the party starts at 7. Mind you it's a little after 5:30 at this point. Ashley kept saying we should go so I relented and off we went to New York, straight from the bar. I told Hortencia we were on our way and to not tell Rachel.

Things worked out so well getting to the city that it must have been meant to be. We even got parking on Fifth Avenue a block away from the hotel. As we got into the elevator we realized that we needed a key card to access the guest floors, which we didn't have. Just as we were about to walk out the elevator, a kid who looked like he was eight walked in with a key card and our floor lit up. As we walked down the hall I saw Emma and Philip shooting in the hallway. Emma had no idea I was coming and told me to wait outside the door and to knock and she would tell Rachel it was room service for her. I knocked and waited. Finally Rachel opened the door, confusedly looks at me, and then started to cry. I was so happy to be able to surprise her for her birthday.

What happened next I could only call debauchery. Lots of champagne. Lots of people in and out of the bathtub in various states of undress (I was dressed when I was in the tub). $70 french fries and $180 bottles of champagne. I've never had this much fun at a party before. I kept saying to Ashley, I can't believe it's only Monday. I love Rachel and all her friends. So many photos were taken that night and there still are more floating out there I haven't seen.

Around 2am we left to drop one of the partygoers off in Bushwick and from there we headed back to Providence because Ashley had a yoga class at 6:15 in the morning. I really don't know how it happened but I was in my bed at 5:15 in the morning. We may have teleported at some point.

There are so many more photos from this night so check out Rachel, Hortencia, and Emma's blog posts for more photos.
