Photo Story // Merry Chrismahanukwanzakah
I debated if I wanted to do a Christmas themed photo shoot. My day job consists me of me taking lots and lots of Christmas photos so I kind of wanted to avoid it at all costs. I really wanted to shoot something since I haven't shot a model since early November. Mandy was available so I said we should go to LaSalette Shrine to take some photos.
Now I've never been to LaSalette Shrine before (most southern New Englanders are probably shocked by that) so I didn't know what to expect. As we drove down the street, I saw all the lights and thought that it would make a great backdrop. I must say that all this time I thought that all the lights were white. That's what I always envisioned when someone mentioned LaSalette Shrine. Misconception #2 is that I had no idea it was so um, religious. Yes, I know. The word Shrine is in the name. I just thought it was a place with a bunch of Christmas lights. I had no idea what its purpose was.
Immediately people started to stare at us when we set up my tripod with my giant camera. Plus Shawn standing there holding a flash that kept going off wirelessly didn't help us blend in any better.
We were there for about an hour and I lost all feeling in my hands about 20 minutes in. Mandy was a champ though and even stood out there in a short sleeved sweater for one point. We were all frozen balls of mess by the time we left.
When we were shooting this photo, some woman kept yelling at Mandy to close her legs. I have no idea what that was about.
I really like the photos that we took even though I thought my fingers were going to break off by the end of it. You can see more photos of Mandy here on her Model Mayhem.
