Rhode Island Jewelry Tour
On April 8th I was lucky to be asked to go on a tour of Rhode Island Jewelers by Visit Rhode Island. RI has a long history of being a leader in the jewelry manufacturing business. First up we got to talk to three different jewelry designers, Duo Duet, Loren Hope, and Nicole Romano and try on their beautiful pieces.
Then we piled into the party bus and went to the KJP factory in Pawtucket. It was an experience from the first second we walked in. Every inch to everything the employees were wearing lived and breathed the branding of KJP.
Next we went to Jessica Ricci Jewelry in the heart of downtown Providence. We loved hearing about her traveling around the world collecting trinkets to make into jewelry.
Lastly we went to the Providence Jewelry Museum and got walked through the process of making jewelry here from over 100 year ago to now. Also we got to make our own earrings on the old machines! I really loved going on this tour because I knew Rhode Island was huge in the jewelry making business and it was great seeing two different small businesses and listen to their stories.
